Tanks not showing at all

thedoctor 11 months ago • updated by SHOAIB (Moderator (EN)) 10 months ago 13

I contacted TankiX support on how to play TankiX on Linux, and they suggested using Wine. I did, and it's pretty smooth, but with one issue. The tanks don't show at all. I wated for all ~500 megs of data to download and tried again. Still no luck. I've attached a few screenshots showing the issue in battle:

Here is a video of the gameplay:

Actually we do not support Linux, yet. So we don't respond to the bugs caused by running the game on unsupported operating systems.

However, please check this solution. If you don't understand it, I am willing to help you personally by implementing that solution using Team Viewer.

Interesting bug you have there, but may I ask what that terminal with TX stuff is all about?

Sorry for the super late reply. That terminal is just me seeing if any resources are missing or not. And then I tried to manually run tankix.exe via wine.

Also, thanks so much for the reply. I honestly didn't expect anyone to reply

I also want to tell you that my tank doesn't show up in the garage either. I really hope the TX team fixes this one bug, because if they do, their game will be playable on Linux too!

One more thing I'll put out there, I'm willing to give the TankiX team SSH/VNC access to my Linux system (not admin access tho. Actually, maybe). So if you guys want to debug on my machine, you're more than welcome to. My computer is more-or-less always on, and I have 100 megabits per second upload/download. If you do want to do this, then I'd request a moderator to reply to me saying that I should contact TankiX support

The -force-d9d3 worked! Can I ask what does that flag do exactly?

The game defaults set to DirectX 11. If needed, players can still run in DirectX 9 mode by passing -force-d3d9 as a command line parameter when launching the game.

Does the game runs fine under Wine? What was the version of the Linux that you used?

It runs on Linux. I am on Arch Linux, so no version. But since it runs on Wine (3.0 for me) it should run on others too.

Here's some system information:
Wine-3.0-rc6

Thanks. I know that Linux still have a problems with game perfomance but I will try.

Thanks for helping out :)
